Edit Add/Strip‚Ñ¢ (Edit A/S) is a companion application that can be used to modify copies of A/S. It can remove certain resources from A/S, install different animated cursors, manipulate character remapping sets, and allow registered users to personalize their copy.
Edit A/S should only be used on personal copies of A/S. Under no circumstances should altered copies be distributed! Only alter copies. Save the original!
Edit A/S can remove the resources used to apply a light gray color to A/S windows. Removing these resources will disable the bevel drawing effect used for lines and rectangles in some A/S windows. The resources used to apply a gray color to the open and save dialogs can also be removed by Edit A/S.
Other resources that can be removed by Edit A/S include the 3D buttons and checkboxes, the color Finder icons, and the color window icons.
Edit A/S can also be used to edit the list of characters used by A/S to match the Digit, Letter, Upper Case, Lower Case, and Punctuation wildcards.
When Edit A/S is opened, it must be told where A/S is located. Choose the Open Add/Strip™… menu item, and open a copy of A/S. Once a copy has been successfully opened, it may be edited.
After completing the edits, choose Close Add/Strip and then Quit from the File menu, or simply choose Quit.
